If you're interested, more reading is a google search away.Finland's AMBERIAN DAWN have issued the following update:"Hi, You must not kill and switching the train would be an act of murder. If you're a deontologist and believe that killing is always wrong then you must not act. Like Spock said, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. If you're a utilitarian the choice is simple, switch the train and kill one versus many. However, if you do so you'll kill the single person on the other track. You have control of the switch and can divert the train onto the other track. Imagine, there is a train hurtling down the tracks towards a group of people. Utilitarian ethics believes in a sort of calculus where you weigh the outcomes. Deontological ethics believes in moral absolutes such as "Killing is always wrong". If you want more information about ethics I'd recommend reading up on deontology and utilitarianism. Organize your thinking so that you will notice the things that agree with you. ![]() Find something genuine that you can say or do. Don't do something unless it agrees with you. The most important factor in doing good is sincerity. If you choose to do good don't fuck it up by being egotistical. They think of how grateful their benefactors will be and start patting themselves on the back before anything is accomplished. Too often people get wrapped up in their egos and overlook or misjudge things. It's easy to foul it up by having great intentions. You're not really good either, just average.ĭoing good is much more difficult than doing bad. If you don't do these things you're not bad. Another way to do bad is encouraging others to do bad or if you fail to prevent something bad which is within your power or responsibility to stop. There are people who take those thoughts and turn them into actions. Every person at one point or another will have bad thoughts. The difference between thought and action should not be dismissed. I just want to be told this is me reading in to much and just forget about it and just strive to do what is good for everyone. Hopefully someone can tell me that it isn't uncommon to have some part of them that wishes to be the antagonist. What I think is the case is that I'm overreacting to this dream, because I swear I've had ones like it. I really try to be a regular, good natured person and doing that makes me feel good. It freaked me out a bit when I thought about it today. I find some sort of strange appreciation for those that destroy because they balance the status quo. And also from people being ashamed of their actions. I have realized that often I derived pleasure from destroying things and seeing people react. But there is a part of me that always wants to be the person opposing what is good and righteous for the sake of. And it reminded me how I have always had some sort of violent, destructive, antagonistic force down inside of me that I usually suppress so much it doesn't affect me. I don't particularly like my dad but the dream was beyond my dislike, it was a deep hate. It was probably the worst dream I ever had. This morning I woke up from a dream where I killed my father. ![]() Bear with me because most of this will sound like I am trying to make it up, but I truly need help understanding what this is.
